Lemelson-MIT InvenTeamA group of 11th and 12th grade Engineering Design students at Drew’s Senior Academy was selected to receive the Lemelson-MIT InvenTeam Grant, a highly competitive $10,000 award they are using to invent a three-tiered alert system device to prevent hot car deaths among children and pets. They were the only team in Georgia to be selected, and one of only 15 teams nationwide.
These incredibly talented, motivated students will have the opportunity to present their work at MIT this June and have set up a GoFundMe campaign to cover their travel expenses. Lemelson-MIT granted them $10,000 to invent, but they have to raise their own money for travel. Please consider donating now and let’s get these superstars to MIT! |
