For several years Drew has participated in Lantern Parades in other neighborhoods. This year due to challenging weather during other neighborhood events, we opted to host our own event. Drew Charter School partnered with the Villages of East Lake to present the first ever East Lake Lantern Parade on Thursday December 13th, 2018. Participants made their own lanterns in class and during Maker Nights in Drew's Makerspace. Some Engineering and Art students also participated in a lantern build workshop at John Portman and Associates. Ultimately, everyone met at Drew to begin the walk to the Villages clubhouse.
