Drew Charter School's Junior Academy
Earns STEAM Certification
Drew's Junior Academy is now the first Title 1 middle school in the state to be officially certified as a STEAM School by the Georgia Department of Education. This important designation, which was created to recognize institutions committed to providing high-quality educational opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math. Drew's Junior Academy received the "whole school" designation, which certifies that the entire student population is engaged in STEAM learning and confirms Drew's position as a statewide leader in innovative education.
This designation was awarded to the school following a visit on October 4th, 2018 that included a meeting and presentation with the leadership team, classroom observations, interviews with students and business partners, and reviews of student work and other documentation.

This designation was awarded to the school following a visit on Wednesday, March 22, 2018 that included a meeting and presentation with the leadership team, classroom observations, interviews with students and business partners, and reviews of student work and other documentation. Special thanks to the students who represented Drew in the interviews with the STEAM Certification Team: Merritt Carlson, Tyler Golubic, Amara Gueye, Charles Fischer, Isabella Franco, Madison Harvey, Niles Holt, Kalani Lanes, Maziah Lanes, Rhyland O'Neill, Adiel Onyeabor and Courtney Smith.
